Bio/CV
Wes Bulla was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He began drawing at an early age, having had an artist grandfather who encouraged him to create. By the age of twelve he began accepting portrait commissions as a way to earn money and to hone his skills in pencil, charcoal, and pastels. He later attended Bloomsburg University where he was exposed to art theory and criticism and began developing a focused direction in his work. During this course of study he realized he was missing out on the academic foundation of making art and yearned for more traditional studio practices. He has since studied independently, and is currently working from his home studio in Columbia County, Pa.
